Maréli Schoeman obtained her B.Comm Law degree (2002) and LLB (2004) degrees Cum Laude from the North West University, Potchefstroom Campus.

She received the Law Society of the Northern Provinces Juta Academic Prize for the best law student in the northern provinces (including TUKS, WITS and UJ) in 2004.  She was admitted as an attorney, notary and conveyancer in 2007 after completing her articles at VDT Attorneys in Pretoria.

In 2010 Maréli completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Corporate Law (Cum Laude) at the University of Johannesburg.

In February 2010 Mareli left VDT Attorneys to start her own niche law firm that focussed on commercial and property matters.  Mareli has a special interest in commercial law and has assisted in listings of companies on the JSE, negotiating and drafting of merger agreements and the lodgement of merger notifications, she assisted clients in the sale and purchasing of businesses and formations of joint ventures.

Mareli has a keen eye for detail and has experience in the drafting of a broad spectrum of agreements. She regularly provides training to clients and their employees in areas such as competition law.

As an added bonus she is an admitted conveyancer who understands the intrigues of property law and the effects thereof in commercial transactions.  Maréli also heads the conveyancing department and has in depth experience in estate planning and the administration of deceased estates.
